IOM and EU continue cooperation meetings on global migration issues
1 April 2014 – IOM and EU representatives met today at the IOM Regional Office in Brussels to discuss return and reintegration, climate change, environmental degradation and migration, and follow-up to the UN High-Level Dialogue on International Migration and Development.
As the third consultation at the Heads of Unit/Division level held under the EU-IOM Strategic Partnership, the meeting brought together representatives from the EU External Action Service and the European Commission’s DG Home and DG Devco with representatives from IOM’s Geneva Headquarters and the IOM Regional Office in Brussels.
The meeting also prepared the ground for the next EU-IOM Senior Officials Meeting and reviewed respective efforts to support mainstreaming of migration in the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
