Saving Migrants Lives: International Migrants Day
18 Dec 2014 -- As we mark International Migrants Day, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is drawing renewed attention to the plight of migrants trying to make their way to new destinations and better lives. 2014 has gone down in history as the deadliest year on record for migrants – more than doubling the number of fatalities in 2013. Saving lives has become the indisputable priority.
I invite you to take the time to absorb the data, stories and pictures that IOM has put together this year, to listen to the testimonies featured on the special International Migrants Day Website and in the Newsletter.
