Geneva hosts first Diaspora Ministerial Conference
21 June 2013 – IOM hosted the world’s first Diaspora Conference at ministerial level in Geneva on June 18th – 19th 2013. Over 500 delegates participated, including 55 Ministers and high-level government officials. The conference reflected growing recognition among IOM’s 149 member states of the potential socio-economic contribution of the Diaspora to the development of their countries of origin.
