EU-IOM Regional Programme Launch - COVID-19 Response in North Africa EUR 7.55M
Brussels/Cairo - The European Union (EU) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) launched on Tuesday 20 April a EUR 7.55 million programme for ‘Regional Response to COVID-19 in North African Countries’ to respond to the emergency needs of COVID-19 affected population and prepare individuals and communities for longer term-recovery.
Funded under the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa (EUTF), the two-year programme focuses on migrants and forcibly displaced persons, including returnees, asylum seekers, refugees, especially those most vulnerable as well as their host communities in Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.
