Communications and Policy Outreach Coordinator
Melissa provides strategic communications advice to the Regional Office and Country Offices. She establishes overall communications strategy and priorities and leads the Communications and Policy Outreach Team to ensure their effective implementation. She also formulates and implements communication strategies to promote IOM’s work and raise awareness in the media and among the general public and other key partners aimed at improving the public perception of migrants in Europe and improving EU migration policy.
Previously, Melissa has been the Head of Communications at ECDPM for almost five years, where she also served as Communication Officer and Programme Associate on Africa-EU policy. Prior to that, Melissa worked at the European Parliament, among other institutions, on African, Caribbean and Pacific policy.
Melissa holds a BA in Political Science and Government from Suffolk University.
