In its seven key recommendations to the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, IOM recommends the Presidency to advance:
- Fight against trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants
- Skills-based labour mobility and social inclusion
- Safe, dignified returns and sustainable reintegration
- Enhancing climate change adaptation for the most vulnerable
- Search and rescue at sea
- Resettlement and complementary pathway
- Ukraine: maintain humanitarian support and contribute to creating an enabling environment for displaced people to return and contribute to Ukraine’s recovery
