In its seven key recommendations to the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, IOM recommends the Presidency to advance:

  1. Fight against trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants
  2. Skills-based labour mobility and social inclusion
  3. Safe, dignified returns and sustainable reintegration
  4. Enhancing climate change adaptation for the most vulnerable
  5. Search and rescue at sea
  6. Resettlement and complementary pathway
  7. Ukraine: maintain humanitarian support and contribute to creating an enabling environment for displaced people to return and contribute to Ukraine’s recovery
